Food War Manga Ending

Food War Manga Ending

This is it. This is the ending…in Weekly Shounen Jump publication. Could you imagine reading this chapter and the announcement isn’t a continuation? That would be some riot. It would feel like a cancelled series’ ending. Actually, it’s almost similar to the series I mentioned in my last review. Anyway, it’s not the complete end, but it’s the end of its era. Whether we will learn the winner in Jump Giga issues or not, this was a charming chapter that reminded me why I stood around for nearly 5 years.

The color page spread is clearly a throwback/nostalgia trip to the very first chapter, where it all started. It’s a little funny when some people didn’t get the premise, but whatever it gives them a reason to hate, it is fine by me. With that out of the way, I really do like it; Soma’s position from back to front. Plus, his cloth isn’t on his head, indicating the journey is over. It wasn’t much.

How

The beginning does reminisce the early days, including a familiar posture Erina had back then. It’s the ultimate full circle. The only difference is, she’s stripped completely; foodgasm that is. Possibly the last taste description is displayed, and it sounds pretty good. I shall find a place and eat one to honor the series somehow. As nice this all was, the real treat is the reason behind the dish. I mean we covered this in the last chapter, but this time, Soma announces it proudly.

Episode 86: Food Wars

As if the shippers got enough treat already, though finalizing it will do, Soma is a real gentleman to admit that she practically inspired him to improve himself. He didn’t get why he passed the test, but even if he has, he’s not going to stop and glut until he shows significant improvement. He always sees her as a true rival; studying her dishes and always think of how to create an even better one. After all, this is all for the sake of making her to say his dish is “delicious.” Translation: Joichiro’s advice is in full effect; now, we just need to tie the knot. This was sweet. No pun intended?

It’s a good way to open Mana’s eyes since she believes God Tongue is the endgame for all, including themselves. Azami was defeated and she too succumbed to defeat by unsatisfactory. Soma proves there’s always someone that won’t stop and instead of threatened by supreme entity, inspired and improve. We’ve seen her flashback with Azami in which he never surpassed or matched her. Soma has a great shot to make it a reality.

Soma created the dish to not only and hopefully receive the word he’s been fighting for (no joke), but open her eyes and see what she really wanted: make her mother proud of her. Her goal is similar as Soma’s, so you can see how they can relate easily. Though it does suck for Erina as it somewhat carries over to her today, only against Soma and not as heartbreaking. So eating Soma’s dish is the wake-up call she needed; so much so, she destroys the wall. Well, this is the final chapter (in WSJ), so you might as well end with a bang. It does make a nice moonlight shot. Actually, the pun is the tower got stripped. Bottom line, she has evolved the Nakiri’s power. Senzaemon is trembling with excitement; grandpapa is so proud.

Sparda's World — Food Wars! Shokugeki No Soma Chapter 312 Review

This tells me that this is it; this is where Erina will finally say the word Soma has been dying for. I was ready for it. Hell, it was practically hyping it up for the moment. Megumi thought this is it. To end the series, you end with a troll. After all that, she says, “It’s disgusting.” My immediate reaction was, “Oh no! Not another Hitman Reborn of complete circle of nothingness! Quick! Store the manga volumes and donate them for charity! Wait, the kids will wonder why these fictional characters get weird ‘tingling’ sensation…Target audience sure is different…” Megumi’s reaction got me laughing though.

While she did say that, she is now focus and motivated to kick Soma’s arse. Not literally, but their rivalry is always like this, and that’s how we like it. I always like how Soma always find a way to embarrass her when she is acting all high and mighty. One way or another, they find themselves motivated by each other; a pairing that fits perfectly well into the criteria of rivalry, best friends, and lovers. Soma wholeheartedly thanked her to push him this far. Thankful to meet people that is like her. Lastly, thankful to attend the Tootsuki under his father’s notice; feel the day of his own “Soma” cooking is here. The real battle begins, but the last chapter ends.

If there wasn’t any announcement about the three special chapters, one in which takes place after the last chapter, same timeline, this would have been a really strange place to end on. It reminds me of two cancelled series, only it’s weirder for them to pull that since when will it ever return. Thankfully, there will be more on the way and while I can’t guaranteed that we will learn who the winner is, we will get an actual ending that will complete the story. It’s not the first time that has happened, so it’s fine the way it works. Better than saying good-bye there and never look back. That or how Bleach fans got their receiving end.

Food Wars! Manga Is Coming To An End This Month

This was the last chapter to be published in WSJ. Now, we play the waiting game for the next three chapters. The first one will be out in two weeks or a little under, but for the other two, each one will be out in a month apart. It’s going to be a long wait, but at least the chapters will be longer than usual, to my knowledge at least. The main course is done, but we haven’t received our dessert yet. It’s best to end your time with complete satisfaction. Now excuse me; I’m off to explore restaurants with Rough Diamonds by Screen Mode playing in the background. See you in the next one!Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma follows Yukihira Soma as he progresses through Totsuki Culinary School, the elite culinary school in the world . The anime is known for its amazing art and its interesting take on the shonen genre.

Food

The manga was, up until recently, headed towards a natural conclusion. The students were their last year and Soma went against one of the only people who rivaled his father. Yet Food Wars’ ending of the manga feels rushed. Almost completely ignoring all the other characters and some major story threads.

The last few chapters of the manga follows Soma after defating Saiba. He’s forced to face Erina, with eggs being the main ingredient. Soma then makes the most refined version of his Egg Don, which he served to Erina in chapter 3 of the manga. Bringing things full circle.

Sparda's World — Food Wars! Shokugeki No Soma Le Dessert Chapter 1

We then learn her grandfather chose all the students for Soma’s year to overcome the burden put upon Erina and her mother by the God Tongue . The God Tongue grants superhuman taste, but this makes all the worst aspects of food come through as well. Erina’s mother stopped eating food completely because of this.

Soma beats Erina, but she still isn’t satisfied. So he vows to make something that she can call delicious, like at the start of the manga.

Crunchyroll

What’s most disappointing is we never see what happens to all Soma’s friends after their time at Totsuki . We never learn where Saiba ends up, how does he change as a person? Does Soma end up inheriting the family restaurant? What does Megumi end up doing afterwards? How about Erina’s grandfather, does his plan ever end up working?

Food Wars!: Shokugeki No Souma' Ends As Anime Wraps Up Final Season

With the number of characters and story threads that aren’t given any resolution makes it feels unfinished and rushed . Hopefully the fourth season of Food Wars might be able to give us the conclusion we were hoping for.

Update: Four additional chapters released in the months following the final chapter. They take place after the events of the BLUE arc and do give a more satisfactory end with more details about where each of the characters ended up.

UPDATE: The final manga volume is now available in English for Kindle and paperback releases over on Amazon. If you want to see how it ended yourself, go check it out!Subscribe to the ANN Newsletter • Wake up every Sunday to a curated list of ANN's most interesting posts of the week. read more

Sparda's World — Food Wars! Shokugeki No Soma Chapter 258 Review

Readers. It was hard not to, with the opening chapter mixing deliciously rendered food with some of the most shameless cheesecake to reach the magazine's pages since

. The series went on to use those paired features to carve out its own sort of shonen action to turn the life or death battles of its peers into imaginative cook offs, running for almost seven years and inspiring a still-ongoing anime adaptation in the process. The series never quite reached blockbuster status, but
