EvaCVM Apr 20, 2020 9.5 I am sorry , there is no way I can rate it lower than a 9. But hear me out.It is a lot better , than solo leveling even. To explain exactly why - these 2 manhwas haveso many similarities , and while solo leveling is a bitt more exagerated and I still liked it a lot - This manhwa is so balanced and calculated , it is insane how fast you fall in love with it. The way characted acts has a background , a story behind it. You literally can't find a single thing wrong while reading. I left thie review at the end of reading episode 55. By now - everything was perfect , there was not a single moment when I wanted to stall it or leave for later. I must say that there is only 1 thing I reallywould consider a huge similarity: SPOILER ALERT -the character seem to have the same affinity for dead things (necromancy) same as the MC in solo leveling.I know that there is noway to be totaly unique and original , so this is not a problem , actually. I like that there is a dual thing in his power , which makes this detail not so visible and it doesn't frustrate me this much. Spoiler End For now , the story gets 10 , maybe my opinion will change , sometime in the future. For now I will give character a 9 , for not being fully unique. Still - If you liked SOLO LEVELING - you will adore this manhwa as well. Art is as amazing as ever. The clothes and character phisique is something that I apreciate in manga. Art takes all 10. 3
Natanickii Jan 3, 2021 6 This manhwa is really hard to describe for me. CONS: All the characters are very superficial and have no depth. The plot is very power fanstasy-esque to the point where it makes no sense (ie. the main character should NOT be able to do everything so easily, as non-human characters and the strongest people are groomed for this tower since birth) There is so higher plot apart from 'I get stronk'. There's a tower that's never really explained, that gives you godly powers. No one in the manhwa ever stops to think about it.The revenge concept is not done well. It's revenge but we only get really vague impressions of what happened (ie. they betrayed my brother, they killed my brother) and it's difficult to care.PROS: The art..... is BEAUTIFUL. But that's it. Logically speaking, that's like the only good thing about it. But there's still this addictive allure to it.... for me at least, I wanted to read more and was so enthralled even though it's so lacking in any form of depth or sense. It's trash but it's trash... not even done well, just satisfiying. And so, while this deserves a 2, I'm going to give it a generous 6 because it's just so easy to be hypnotised by it. 3
Second Life Ranger (cha Yeon Woo 2)
Shampoliny Apr 29, 2020 9.5 I will not compare this to solo leveling or the other way around, and just to correct Eva but they have a different author. The story follows an Mc who's main objective is revenge, the mc is so interesting that it makes you want to keep reading his story. The story is more focused on the Mc then the world around him or other caracters, the Mc isnt overpowered in the begining, he actually becomes op becouse of his training and choices. He also has an uperhand due to him almost having an manual on where to go to get legendary equipments. The mc is also an lonley wolf, and preffere to do his objectives alone, even though the 4 main side characters we've meet are siblings which maybe is the reason why the mc accepts their company more then others. As the story keeps on going the more fame and attraction our mc gets, but his skills develops and get's more op weapons and equipments which makes up for it.The most negative part is the Art, sometimes it feels like im seing cgi in an manga. If u like stories about weak to strong, revenge, fantasy and rpg then i recomend this.Overall 9, 5/10(Sorry for any misspelings or wrong grammars)Mentally: 1000+ (Due to the time difference in the Changgong Library, although it was more than 150 years in the normal world. Also countless years passed while he was trapped in darkness though it was 10 years in the real world)
Cha Yeon-woo is the main protagonist of the Korean Web Novel and Web Comic, Second Life Ranker. Prior to entering the Obelisk, he served in the army and later on went to take on the revenge for his younger twin brother.
Yeon-woo later became a 'Player and reawakened as a human blessed with the dragon bloodline after receiving the powers from the pocket watch of Cha Jeong-woo. He continues to climb tower taking revenge on those who betrayed his brother and killed him.
Yeon Woo Cha (second Life Ranker)
Yeon-Woo is a handsome young man with short black hair and dark eyes. Due to being an athlete as a teen and a part of the army as an adult, he is very fit and has well balanced muscles.
With the Dragon's Authority, Yeon-woo gains blue (Dragon)/black (Demon)/golden scales (God) all over his body except his face, large fangs in place of his teeth, bright yellow reptilian eyes, dragon wings on his back and claws on his hands and feet.
After transcending, his True Body was a huge dark-red dragon that would make most solar systems pale in comparison. The divine power of a God, the demonic magic power of a Demon, the magic power of Dragons, and even the fighting spirit of Giants… It seemed as though the power of the four races, all transcendent species, had been crammed into one existence.
Best Manhwa Like Solo Leveling
Yeon-woo was different from his younger brother who did everything effortlessly. He often had to try over and over again to solve a problem, but he tried not to show the efforts he made, pretending he was doing fine. Unlike his younger brother who could be categorized as a natural genius, all his achievements all came from being a hard worker through which he was able to achieve results that are reflective of his effort.
However despite his rather advanced intellect and tactical genius, Yeon-Woo does indeed possess a childish side, where he was noted to possess a very bad sense of imagination when naming things and has a tendency of naming things with names usually though up by toddlers.
This is seen where he named the newborn Phoenix, Chirpy and when he obtained his Magical Dragon, he attempted to name it Growl and Roar. Although initially thought to be him being insulting and condescending, it was later revealed that Yeon genuinely did like those names despite their obvious childishness. This trait itself is seemingly shared with his niece, Sesha.
Second Life Ranker Chapter 143: Secrets About The Philosopher Stone! Release Date & Plot
Later after finding out about his niece, Sesha and his face being revealed to Brahm, Galliard, Phante and Edora, Yeon was noted to have begun becoming considerably warmer and less cynical due to finally opening up to others. Unlike before where he regarded them with a level of paranoia due to his brother's story, he has now begun to truly trust them.
However, his time in the military and his experiences in Africa render him quite cold in general. He possesses a quick and agile mind that is extremely useful in combat as well as strong intellect as an individual and although he was originally an extroverted person, over time, he has grown to become more cynical due to his younger twin brother's disappearance and tragic death.
Yeon-woo was used to pushing himself to the limit. He would slam himself against the walls of limitation again and again until it would finally break down. And when he encountered another wall, he would continue to hit it until it broke once again.
Could Current Cha Yeon Woo (second Life Ranker) Beat Sung Jin Woo (solo Leveling)?
As noted by numerous individuals, When Yeon-woo is focused on reaching a certain goal, he had the tendency to go through the absolute extreme methods to accomplish his goal with little care for the consequences it would bring himself and others. With him literally taking the phrase treat yourself as a tool to new heights of extreme.
This is seen numerous times where he had little hesitation endangering himself and using his own body as a tool to get his desired results. As seen where he recklessly endangered
