Kingdom Hearts es una adaptación libre al manga por el dibujante Shiro Amano de la saga Kingdom Hearts. El manga fue licenciado en EE.UU. por TOKYOPOP y en España por Planeta DeAgostini. El manga narra la historia de los videojuegos de la saga, con los mismos personajes y escenarios pero con un toque mas cómico y simple.
La primera serie se basó en el primer Kingdom Hearts y fue lanzada en cuatro libros separados. A diferencia de los otros mangas, el primer manga se volteó para que se pudiera leer de izquierda a derecha, mientras que los otros se quedaron como los originales, para leer de derecha a izquierda. La serie fue re-editada en tres volúmenes en Japón en diciembre de 2006 como Kingdom Hearts Final Mix. A España solo llegaron los tres volúmenes de la edición Final Mix.
Tras los acontecimiento en Kingdom Hearts, la Historia de Sora continúa en los 2 tomos separados de Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, en los cuales además se puede ver la Historia de Riku. Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories fue lanzado en Japón en el año 2005. El manga es mucho más ligero que el juego original y su historia difiere en algunos aspectos a la original. Por ejemplo, la batalla final de Sora contra Marluxia tiene lugar en su jardín de flores donde tiene presa a Naminé.
El Manga Kingdom Hearts Ii Termina
La tercera serie se basó en Kingdom Hearts II. Esta serie está dividida en diez tomos, sin embargo solo los dos primeros volúmenes se han publicado en inglés por TOKYOPOP, que desde entonces ha perdido los derechos para distribuirlo, mientras que han salido ocho en español por Planeta DeAgostini, en alemán por Egmont Manga & Anime y en Italia por Disney Manga. Kingdom Hearts II parece tener un tono más serio que el manga de Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, pero todavía tiene algunas escenas humorísticas.
La cuarta temporada del manga se basa en Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. En Japón salieron 5 volúmenes y un Pre-Manga. El manga entero de Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days ha sido publicado en español por Planeta DeAgostini.
En primera instancia, los volúmenes de Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories fueron editados por Planeta DeAgostini a partir de 2007 en castellano en su totalidad, y Kingdom Hearts II, los cinco primeros volúmenes. Después, la editorial emitió un comunicado de prensa expresando que ya no era poseedora de los derechos de Disney, y por tanto no seguiría editando los tomos ya publicados ni lanzando los pendientes. En 2015, PlanetaCómic relanzó todos los tomos anteriormente publicados con un lavado de cara (diferentes portadas, tipografía...) y continuó editando los tomos pendientes de Kingdom Hearts II, así como los de Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. Estas nuevas ediciones son reconocibles porque los títulos no aparecen escritos con la fuente típica de la serie, sino por una más neutra (aunque también aparece el logotipo oficial del videojuego correspondiente). Las nuevas ediciones, pese a la nueva presentación recrean en parte a la primera, incorporando, por ejemplo, el mismo texto en las solapas de las cubiertas (Retazos de un sueño que parecen recuerdos lejanos, recuerdos lejanos que parecen retazos de un sueño. Me gustaría unirlos todos... junto a ti, en el caso del manga de Kingdom Hearts II).
Kingdom Hearts Ii (kingdom Hearts Ii: The Novel)
A pesar de la traducción al inglés y de que la publicación de los manga en Estados Unidos ha sido aplazada, no está previsto el lanzamiento de los volúmenes 3, 4 y 5 de Kingdom Hearts II y Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days en EE.UU. Esto se debe a TOKYOPOP perdió la licencia del manga. Disney y Square Enix no han hecho ningún comentario público sobre el futuro del manga de Kingdom Hearts.

If you are seeking the Kingdom Hearts 3 manga I have bad news for you, they have not been released in English yet.
The books are authored by Tomoco Kanemaki together with Tetsuya Nomura, while they are illustrated by the same artist as the Kingdom Hearts manga ( Shirow Amano).
You may have noticed that these books are titled as Kingdom Hearts Light novel, this is because in Japan (where this series comes from) light novel is the term used to refer to the books targeted to high schoolers and middle graders. These are usually not longer than 50k words, while a standar novel is usually 80k words.

The Kingdom Heart books and mangas retell the story we have lived in the videogame franchise. Funnily, while in the games the cursing is very limited, this is not so in the books and mangas.
