It was revealed in February 2023 that TMS tertainmt commissioned a new glish dub of Case Closed, with episodes of the anime beginning streaming on Tubi that same month, starting at episode #965.

The dub is produced by Florida-based studio Macias Group with a new dub cast (except for the voices of Shinichi, Conan, Ran, Kogoro, and Kaito Kid, whose voice actors were retained from the Bang Zoom! tertainmt home video dubs).

These seasons are based on the Japanese DVDs released by Shogakukan starting on February 24, 2006. (see Home media release section) In Japan, Case Closed runs continuously on TV with very few weeks off.The Detective Conan manga was first serialized in the fifth issue of Shōnen Sunday in 1994, written and drawn by Gosho Aoyama, and has been an ongoing feature since.

Note: The release dates below reflect the actual in-store date of the Shonen Sunday issue containing each chapter in question, not the ISSN dates on the issues' front covers. The latter, like most comic-book cover dates, are deliberately staggered weeks or even months behind the actual releases. For instance, the aforementioned Sunday issue that premiered File 001 bears the ISSN date January 19th, 1994 on its cover, but actually went on sale on January 5.

Conventionally, each issue's actual release date is calculated as two weeks ahead of the cover date, with more unconventional timings around holidays and other major events. For most of Sunday's publication history, the exact dates could only be determined though the magazines' next-issue preview pages, though they have become more widely accessible after Sunday entered digital circulation.

Magic Kaito is a shōnen manga series by Gosho Aoyama, about a thief named Kaitou Kid. Its publication started on June 10, 1987, with some chapters published in Weekly Shōnen Sunday and other chapters published in Weekly Shōnen Sunday Special Edition. After the first two volumes were released in 1988, the manga was put on hiatus as Aoyama started his new manga Yaiba (1988-1993), which was followed by Detective Conan (1994-present). Since then, more chapters have been published at irregular intervals during pauses of these works, and have been collected into a third, forth and fifth volume in 1994, 2007 and 2017 respectively.

Y∀IBA, also known as Kenyuu Densetsu Yaiba, is the second manga series created by Gosho Aoyama. The story was about a young samurai and his adventures in modern day Japan. There have been numerous references to it in Detective Conan.I have compiled a list of canon episodes that are actually significant as well as listed the reasons someone may believe them to be essential (so

Should have to watch them or not). This is for the sake of those who might want to get into or try to convince a friend to get into Detective Conan for the story but find the insanely high episode count and 2-decade long history daunting. As hinted there, this is not a list of “must watch” episodes, but rather a list of episodes you may not want to miss depending on what aspects of the series you are trying to follow. The episodes labeled *Main Plot* are closer to that, but still not quite the same thing, because at least the occasional dose of character development here and there is “must watch” in its own way. There are tons of great “normal” cases that are self-contained throughout the series that naturally are left out, which are really the original point of the series, but if you just want to get around all of that and watch the series for just the overall story and characters, this might prove useful for that. Of course, there are still a ton of episodes, but cutting a good two-thirds of the series out should ease the pain of entry a bit.

Note this uses the original Japanese episode numbers. The Funimation English dub version (aka “Case Closed” although the more recent official subs have adopted that name as well) stopped before it ever got to anything really huge in the story anyway, so watching that would kinda defeat the purpose. Update: I went ahead and added the alternative episode numbers as well where applicable in brackets (as [INTL #]). It turns out nowadays many international licensors have adopted the same method of numbering the series that Funimation used to. That might be useful to visitors from affected regions. Plus if someone really just wants to watch the English dub that bad, this will help them, too. I still would recommend against using this list with the English dubbed version, especially considering that version was

Ages ago. Further update: And now more recently Funimation has let the license for those early dub episodes
