EditSynopsisCan you give me a happy ending? Komatsu Risa is in love with her childhood friend, Sano Chihiro. Although they have a very close relationship, and are often mistaken for a couple, Chihiro is unaware of how Risa feels and accepts a confession from another girl... Heartbroken about her first love, she confides in her seemingly indifferent homeroom teacher, Natsuo. (Source: AOC Translations)EditBackgroundNo background information has been added to this title. Have you ever read something so bad, and so annoying yet you still feel a draw to keep flipping the page? This is definitely one of those novels. The amount of red flags--even for a lax person like me is really...unsettling. I wanted to stop reading after the second chapter. I'm sure most would be uncomfortable with the energy this series brings. (Not just being a senseixstudent novel, but like ... just everything they do...is just...yabai to say the least). If you're able to separate real life from fiction though this is a really page-turning read. Plus the art style is really pretty.

Contrary to ... most shoujos, literally every character is the actual worst. Selfish, flimsy and also just... bad with communication. Psychology as a tag doesn't even begin to describe the cluster f. In fact, literally this entire series would be not only 110% better but quicker resolved if people were clear with their thoughts. That's definitely not the case though, but like eyes on an oncoming accident -- you kind of are stuck in deerlights, waiting for it possibly can't get worse; she can't possibly be that naive. AND BOY. Yes. it's one of those novels. It's rare though, even feeling like ... this is super face-palm worthy at the naivety and also toxic selfishness, it's childish. But somehow, the female lead (and tbh all the characters) are still bearable. Even if it the way she acts could never be me, I can almost sympathize with her train of thinking. Almost. A Degrassi type read really in summary. Do read it if you aren't easily triggered by red flags and/or shit that definitely does not fly irl.
The story is like any typical shoujo manga where the girl has an unrequited love towards her childhood friend who only sees her as a sister, or a very close friend.
A problem I have with this is the teacher, his actions aren't acceptable in any way counting the age gap, the fact that they're student and teacher, and that he has a fiancée. In the first chapter he kissed the FL to show her how easy kisses are given without her consent whatsoever. Whether he loves his fiancée or not isn't my problem, but doing that without her knowledge ... is considered being unfaithful to your partner and that's just not right. The childhood friend from what I see is just a young boy from her age who doesn't see her as a love interest, let even a woman. Later on in the manga he's only broken up with his gf because she graduated, not because they don't love eachother anymore. The amount of love the FL has for him isn't healthy, it's bad to be that in love with a person to the point where you neglect yourself. The FL herself is indecisive, it's more like she's playing with both men and chooses to be her childhood friend's gf after he broke up with his gf. Personally I feel bad for her at the same time because the childhood friend is the type to cheat as well, if she isnt with him, he would go to another girl. The title suits the story as it is very overdramatic and overwhelming.
